Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Coaching is an interactive support system that helps you understand yourself, your process, while discovering your goals and passions then it encourages you to use them to travel down a path to the life you want. We will work together to discover what you want and need, then make a plan for you to not only achieve your goals but to also enjoy life while in the process of obtaining them.

Each phone or Zoom session is 60 minutes. In preparation for each a session you will fill out a prep form to help you clarify your thoughts. This form will be used to guide your session. We will talk about your previous homework. We'll look at what's working and identify any roadblocks you might be struggling with.  At the end of our conversation, you and I will agree on homework (i.e., several action steps to get you moving in your desired direction) and specified email check-in dates to keep you accountable towards your goals.

100%! What happens in our sessions stays in our sessions.

In coaching, we will be dealing with some of your emotional life. Most of this work can be done effectively in the coaching relationship. If, however, I feel at anytime that we have uncovered something that may need further support from a therapist or other healthcare provider, I will recommend this course of action to you. What is the difference between coaching and therapy? See below100%! What happens in our sessions stays in our sessions, just like seeing a therapist.

In coaching, we deal with the present moment as well as what you are interested in accomplishing in the future. We talk about and look at modifying behaviors and patterns that interfere with or sabotage your progress. Though we may touch on your past, we will not spend time trying to heal the original incident(s) that created these patterns. If your interest is more on healing your past, therapy may be a better fit. Both therapy and coaching are powerful tools when used appropriately.

The time that your coaching process will take depends on the complexity of your goals and your commitment and openness to your process. What you do between sessions is the most important work. Here’s why: it allows you to not only begin to create momentum towards your goals, it also gives you consistency through daily practice while shining a light on areas you’d like to address in future sessions. Your commitment and follow-through to these assignments will be the key to creating your long-term success.

No. But I will have great tools that I will share with you and can also help you identify the skills you need to strengthen. The truth is YOU have your answers. One thing my current clients say is that not only am I a good listener, but I can “hear between the lines.” I’m able to hear the root of what a client is trying express. It is very challenging to be objective with yourself so this is a very valuable part of the coaching relationship. To have what you are saying reflected back to you can help you identify your struggles, clarify your direction, and align you with powerful tools to reach your goals.
